Dronetag Scout comes in a Baseline Configuration, providing all essential components to start detecting Remote ID signals from nearby drones. The design is modular, allowing you to customize hardware and connectivity to your operational requirements.

Operation Modes

Scout supports four configurable operation modes, allowing seamless integration into various workflows and infrastructure types:

  1. Sensor Mode
In this mode, the device works as a standalone Remote ID signal receiver and outputs raw detection data to your own infrastructure. It’s ideal for users who don’t need cloud services and prefer to process, store, or visualize the data in their own systems or third-party platforms. Based on the serial number, Scout can identify the drone manufacturer. No access to Dronetag Cloud is included.
  2. Sensor Mode+
Similar to Sensor Mode, but with added features and vendor support. While data is still processed in your own infrastructure, Scout enriches the raw Remote ID output — identifying not just the manufacturer, but also the specific drone model based on the serial number. Ideal for users who want to stay self-hosted but benefit from Dronetag’s enhanced data interpretation and device management tools.
  3. Cloud Mode
Enables direct connection to the Dronetag Cloud platform. All detected Remote ID data is sent to the cloud automatically, where it can be accessed and visualized in real time via the Dronetag web or mobile app. Ideal for users who need remote access, real-time monitoring, and cloud-based workflows without building their own backend.
  4. On-Premise Mode
Designed for environments where data cannot leave the local network. Scout sends Remote ID data to a local server, which is accessed by a computer running Dronetag software. All processing and visualization happens locally in the Dronetag app — without any connection to the cloud.

Antenna Options

In its Baseline Configuration, Scout is equipped with two omnidirectional antennas: one for receiving Remote ID signals on 2.4 GHz, and a dual-band antenna capable of detecting signals on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies.

This setup can be expanded with directional antennas designed for improved performance in complex environments such as urban areas. Directional antennas have a 90° beamwidth and allow for more reliable long-range detection. Customers can choose to add between one and four directional antennas.

Please note: when the maximum of four directional antennas is selected, the device retains only one dual-band omnidirectional antenna (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz) alongside them.

4G/LTE Modem Upgrade

An internal hardware upgrade that adds a 4G/LTE modem to the Baseline Configuration of Scout. This enables direct mobile network connectivity for data transmission without relying on local Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Please note: A SIM card is not included by default and must be provided by the user. If you would like to use a SIM card provided by Dronetag, please contact us.

Dronetag Scout detects all Remote ID-equipped drones compliant with FAA, EASA, and MLIT standards. The system is designed to detect unauthorized drone activities, including unintentional breaches and low-sophistication criminal operations.

Advanced Drone & Pilot Detection
Two independent receiving radios continuously scan for Remote ID signals from commercial drones, delivering detection of drones, their pilots, and even identifying the drone's manufacturer and model. This data equips you to take swift decisive action, ensuring safety of your airspace.

Real-Time View & Data Logging
Monitor drone activities through the Dronetag App, available on Android, iOS, and Web, or integrate seamlessly with third-party systems using our API. Historical data is stored for post-incident analysis, and users can set up geofencing alerts to be notified of unauthorized drones.

Effortless Installation
Seamlessly deploy Scout at any location with pole or wall mounting options. It supports PoE for streamlined power and connectivity, and can optionally include 4G connectivity for added flexibility. As a passive receiver, it does not create any interference with existing installations.

Build to last
Designed for reliability, Scout features an IP67-rated enclosure that ensures consistent performance in harsh environmental conditions. It withstands sunlight, extreme temperatures with built-in heating and passive cooling, and thunderstorms with optional lightning protection.

Who is it for?
Dronetag Scout is designed to meet the needs of organizations safeguarding sensitive airspaces, such as airports, prisons, nuclear plants, and high-security zones. It is an essential tool for public safety agencies, law enforcement, and Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) systems, offering reliable airspace monitoring for all environments.
